The birth of a baby – what a joyous time in the life of the impending mom and dad! For first time parents it’s both exciting and overwhelming at the same time! They’re looking forward to the future and meeting their new baby, but uncertain about the birth and the baby’s needs.

Luckily friends and family are always happy to help. A great way to start showing your support is by throwing a baby shower in honor of the new parents. That way they can receive some of the baby gifts they are in need of before the new bundle of joy arrives!

• To start off, anyone can host the shower, friends, family, anyone!
• If it’s a surprise ask the mother of the parent’s-to-be who should be included. Same goes if family is throwing the event; they should ask the parent’s–to-be closest friends to also be present.
• The shower should be held one to two months before the baby is due.
• Come up with a theme you’d like; if mom knows she’s having a girl it can be pink, Winnie the Pooh or Minnie Mouse, etc.
• A shower location will need to be decided. The shower can be held at someone’s home, restaurant or day spa.
• Find or design the perfect invitations.
• Decide on the menu
• Decide if/what games will be played
• If it’s not a surprise, mom and dad should register for baby gifts.
